Meridian runs past 100°F in July and drops into the single digits in January. That swing is what kills seals and warps cheap frames. Here's what we spec so it doesn't happen to yours.
- 01Low-E coated, argon-filled glassA microscopic metal coating bounces summer heat back outside and keeps winter heat in. Argon between the panes insulates better than plain air.
- 02Foam-filled vinyl framesVinyl doesn't conduct cold the way aluminum does, and doesn't swell or rot like wood. Hollow chambers get filled so the frame insulates as well as the glass.
- 03A U-factor around 0.27 or betterU-factor is how fast heat escapes — lower is better. Most 1990s Treasure Valley builder windows sit near 0.50, roughly double the heat loss.
- 04Full-frame or insert, whichever your house needsInserts drop into a sound existing frame and cost less. Full-frame takes it back to the studs, which is the honest answer when there's rot. We'll tell you which one you've got.
- 05Flashed, foamed, and sealed correctlyMost window failures are installation failures. We flash the opening, insulate the gap with low-expansion foam, and seal the exterior so wind-driven rain has nowhere to go.

Questions people ask us
What do replacement windows cost in Meridian?
It depends on size, style, and whether the opening needs rebuilding, so anyone who quotes a number over the phone is guessing. A standard vinyl insert in a sound opening is usually the low end; large sliders, bays, and full-frame installs run higher. The in-home measure is free and the written quote is line-itemed by window, so you can see exactly where the money goes.
How long does the whole thing take?
Three to five weeks from approval, because the windows are built to your openings rather than pulled off a shelf. Installation itself is usually one to two days for a whole house.
Do I need a permit?
Straight replacement in an existing opening usually doesn't. Changing the size of an opening, or cutting a new basement egress, does. We handle the permit and the inspection when a job needs one.
Can you replace just the foggy glass instead of the whole window?
Often, yes. If the frame and sash are still solid and only the seal has failed, we can replace the insulated glass unit for a lot less than a full window. We'll tell you honestly which way is the better spend.
Is my house going to be open to the weather?
No. We pull and set one window at a time, so there's never a big hole sitting open. Most homeowners stay home through the whole install.
